Lives and works Sweden.
Tove Kjellmark's work searches for another nature. A nature that refuses to accept a difference between technological and natural forces, that refuses to accept a given difference between human life and animal life, between mechanics and organics. By questioning precisely these issues, Kjellmark attempts to create nature anew; not out of critique but through artistic experimentation.
Through video, photography, and sculpture Kjellmark explores the anthropocentric emphasis in technological and robotic advancement. Her visual expression is simultaneously elegant, amusing, unsettling and charged, invoking a surprising pathos in spite of a mechanical austerity.
